Swapagift.com is the leading Internet site where you can buy, sell, swap or exchange gift cards and use gift cards to pay bills or mail them in for cash. You can buy gift cards at a discount and even use them for fundraising.

How to Register

You don't need an account to browse or search the gift cards for sale on Swapagift.com. However, for the protection of all the customers using our website, we require that you register for an account prior to completing a gift card purchase or listing gift card(s) for sale or swap. Registration is quick, easy, and free!

When you create your account, you'll provide the following information:

Your name
Your e-mail address
Password
Your address
Your phone number

To create an account, you must read and agree to our Terms and Conditions. Your privacy is important to us. We keep any information you provide confidential. To complete your registration, just click on the Register button. That’s it!

How to Sign In

To sign in to your account just follow these steps:

Click Sign In at the top of the Swapagift.com home page.
Type your email address and password.
Click the Sign In button

How to Search for Gift Cards

You can search for a gift card several ways:

On the Home Page go to “Search For Cards” and enter the merchant you are looking for. Click the GO button to initiate the search.
On the Home Page go to “Browse by Category” and select the category
For a more advanced search, go to the “Advanced Search” link (under Search for Cards).

Advanced Search will allow you to:

Search for merchants alphabetically
Search for gift cards listed in the past few days
Search for gift cards that are discounted by a certain percentage
Search for gift cards that are selling between a certain price range
Search for gift cards are have a card balance between a certain range
Filter your search to gift cards that are owned by Swapagift.com

You can also use the “Find a Match” feature. This will allow you to enter the gift card you have, and type in the gift card that you want. Click the Search button to find a gift card match!

Buying a Gift Card Directly from Swapagift.com

Once you find a gift card you would like to purchase, click on the Merchant Name (in the search results window).

If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to sign in
Click on the BUY THIS CARD button
After you click the BUY THIS CARD button you will be prompted to confirm the purchase
If you want to make the purchase click on BUY THIS CARD
If you want to cancel, just click on Cancel
After you click the BUY THIS CARD button you will receive a confirmation that shows your purchase was successful
You will receive an e-mail with a link to PayPal. Please click on the link and make payment for your gift card purchase
If you do not see receive the email, check your bulk or junk email folder before contacting customer service.
Your gift card will be mailed First Class Insured within 24 hours of receipt of payment
Gift cards are only mailed to the confirmed PayPal address. We do not support shipping addresses
There is no charge to purchase a gift card on Swapagift.com other than the actual purchase price of the gift card. Shipping is free – the price you see is the price you pay

Buying a Gift Card from a Private Seller

Once you find a gift card you would like to purchase, click on the gift card Merchant Name (in the search results window).

If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to sign in
Click on the BUY THIS CARD button
After you click the BUY THIS CARD button you will be prompted to confirm the purchase
If you want to make the purchase click on BUY THIS CARD
If you want to cancel your transaction, just click on Cancel
If you click on BUY THIS CARD you will receive a message that the seller has been notified that you wish to purchase the card. The seller will accept or decline your offer. The seller has 5 days to accept or decline this offer
If the seller accepts your offer, you will receive an e-mail that the seller has accepted
Please make payment to the seller (we recommend PayPal)
Once the seller receives payment, the seller will mail the gift card to you
If the seller declines the transaction, you will receive an e-mail that the seller has declined

Swapping a Gift Card (you initiate the swap)

In order to swap a gift card, your gift card must be listed on Swapagift.com. Be sure to add the merchants you would swap for when you list your gift card – this is how other users find you! Once your gift card is listed and you find the gift card you would like to swap for, click on the gift card link (in the search results window).

If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to sign in.
Click on the SWAP button.
After you click the SWAP button you will be prompted to confirm the SWAP.
You must choose the gift card that you are going to SWAP (You may have multiple cards listed, so choose the one you wish to SWAP).
Click the radio button next to your gift card, then click on SWAP CARDS.
You will receive a message that the other party has been notified that you wish to SWAP gift cards. The other party will accept or decline your offer. He/she has 5 days to accept or decline this offer.
If the other party accepts your offer, you will receive an e-mail that he/she has accepted the SWAP.
The e-mail will provide you with the mailing information of the other party.
We recommend e-mailing or calling the other party to confirm when the gift card will be mailed.
Before you mail your gift card, be sure to write down the last 4 digits of the card number and the pin number. You will need this information to be covered under our Customer Protection Policy.
We recommend mailing your gift card with delivery confirmation or tracking. You will need proof of mailing to be covered under our Customer Protection Policy.

Swapping a Gift Card (someone else initiates the swap)

When your gift card is listed on Swapagift.com, you will receive offers to SWAP gift cards.

You will receive an e-mail that someone is interested in swapping gift cards.
This e-mail will display the information about your gift card and the information about their gift card so that you can make a decision about swapping your gift card.
You must log on to Swapagift.com and go to “My Account” (top right side of the site).
Click on “View your Cards and Pending Transactions”.
You can either accept or decline this transaction.
If you accept the transaction an e-mail will be sent to the other party notifying them.
You will receive an e-mail with the other party’s mailing information.
We recommend e-mailing or calling the other party to confirm when the gift card will be mailed.
Before you mail your gift card, be sure to write down the last 4 digits of the card number and the pin number. You will need this information to be covered under our Customer Protection Policy.

Selling Your Gift Card to Swapagift.com for Cash

Selling your gift card to Swapagift.com is the easiest way to turn your gift card into cash. Swapagift.com will buy your gift card directly so there is no waiting for your card to sell and no managing your gift card listing.

On the Home Page, click on the “Get Cash” link. This will take you to our Cash For Your Card page
You can view the Preferred Merchants on this screen. (The Preferred Merchants are the merchants that we will pay cash for.)
If your gift card is in the Preferred Merchants list, has a balance of $25 or more and does not have a pending expiration date, we will BUY it from you!
If you don’t see your merchant in the list please e-mail us at customerservice@swapagift.com. We just might buy it anyhow!
To complete this process start with Step 1. Simply select the merchant, enter the card balance, and we will show you the redemption rate (how much we’ll pay for the card)
Please complete Step 2 and enter in your contact information.
Step 3 requires you to print a copy of the form and mail it with your gift card

Once we receive your gift card(s) and verify the balances, we will mail you a check for the amount indicated.

Listing Your Gift Card

In order to sell or swap your gift card with other Swapagift.com members, you must list it on Swapagift.com. It is just $1.99 to list your gift card. There is no commission taken from your card listing when it sells. Your card listing will stay active for 90 days. If your gift card does not sell or swap after 90 days, you will have the opportunity to list your gift card for an additional 60 days at no charge. Your gift card listing must be secured with Visa or MasterCard at the time of listing.
To list a gift card:

On the Home Page, click on the swap your gift card link, or list your card for sale link
In the listing screen, complete Step 1. Choose your merchant by letter, alphabetically
Complete Step 2 by entering the gift card information
Complete Step 3 by entering your credit card information.
You can change your listings at any time - 24 hours a day. We provide the tools you need to monitor and adjust your listings, giving you the ability to actively manage your listings and increase the chance that your gift card sells.
If someone is interested in buying or swapping for your gift card, we’ll send you an email to notify you of the pending transaction.

Pay Bills with your Gift Card

You read it right! At Swapagift.com, you can use your unwanted gift cards to pay bills – ANY bill! Do you have an unwanted gift card from a leading retailer and a bill that you’d like to pay? Let Swapagift.com show you how to get the most from your unwanted gift card with VersiCard BillPay™.

To pay a bill with your gift card:

On the Home Page, click on the "Pay Bills With Your Gift Card" link (upper right side).
In the Pay Bills with Your Gift Card Screen, complete Step 1. Choose your merchant.
Enter the gift card balance and click the update button.
Please note - the minimum gift card balance is $25.00.
Once you click the update button we will populate the gift card redemption rate.
Step 2 – Enter your contact information.
Step 3 – Prepare for mailing. Print a copy of the form and mail it with your gift card and a copy of your bill. (We need the coupon portion of your bill!)
